Tutorial Notes (Pigott,2016)
All games in this document require minimal equipment. Equipment list (Assuming a class of 32)
Keepy off (Pictured first to the right) Basic warm up used likely in the first lesson when teaching touch and can be advanced and adapted to touch by incorporating more touch specific skills.
Modifications of ‘keepy off’ to use later in term as skill progress: This game can be used as a warm up throughout the touch program as it easily adapted to touch and made increasingly challenging as skill progresses.

Initiating the touch
3 V 3
This activity helps to develop an understanding that the main objective is to gain ground up the field and to be willing to take the touch rather than running side ways across the field and gaining no ground.
The attackers must pass backwards. Defenders initiate the touch.
Touch, Dump, Step.
After six touches, defenders and attackers swap.
If class size does not allow for 3 V 3 always give the advantage (extra person) to the attackers.
